The Mary Rousmaniere Gordon Library, located adjacent to the Study Center, offers boys a space for quiet, independent study and holds more than 16,000 titles.

Library

In addition to the many titles—both for research and pleasure reading—available to students and faculty in the Mary Rousmaniere Gordon Library, the school subscribes to three daily newspapers, more than 40 periodicals, and many subscription databases. To view our collection, visit the Follet Destiny online catalog. To view Roxbury Latin databases, visit the Gale Resources site.

Special collections housed in the Great Hall include publications by and about Roxbury Latin alumni, trustees, faculty, and staff; books relating to the school’s history and Boston’s history; collections of Civil War and naval history works; and the Greek and Latin library owned by the 19th-century British novelist Anthony Trollope.

Each year the school receives donations of books and articles written by or about alumni, trustees, and faculty, as well as books pertaining to the history of the school. To look at these and other items in our alumni book collection, visit the Follet Destiny online catalog. The catalog is searchable by title, keyword, subject, or author. The school has more than 1,200 books by or about alumni and the history of the school, and we are always eager to have more. Please contact librarian Chris Heaton if you know of any published works by or about alumni, trustees, or faculty.
