Welcome, New Faculty and Staff

One of Roxbury Latin’s great treasures is the collection of adults who commit their talent, time, and energy to caring for our boys and making the institution run. This fall, Roxbury Latin welcomed a new cohort of faculty and staff, joining RL’s roster of educators, coaches, advisors, and professionals.

Steve Brennan joins RL as the new Head Varsity Football Coach and Assistant Director of Athletics. Mr. Brennan’s resume as a football coach is long and wide-ranging, including most recently serving as Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at MIT, where he coached for fifteen years and helped transform the Engineers from a two-win program to a ten-win program with four conference championships. In addition, Mr. Brennan served for one year as Offensive Quality Control Coach at Harvard University, and for five years early in his career as an assistant at Nobles. Mr. Brennan comes to us with experience in education as well, having worked as a preschool teacher at Hanscom Air Force Base and special education paraprofessional in Cambridge Public Schools. He holds a B.S. in sociology and a master’s in sports leadership from Northeastern University. Mr. Brennan will also work within the Athletics Department, coach Third Baseball, advise students, and serve in other roles within our curriculum.

Robert Crawford ’18 returns to Alma Mater this fall to work on our annual giving and alumni engagement efforts as a Development Officer. After graduating from RL, Mr. Crawford matriculated at Dartmouth College, where he earned his B.A. in government and Spanish, before moving to Chicago, where he worked for four years as a consultant for Blueprint Talent Group, attracting and hiring top talent for high-growth companies. Mr. Crawford began at Roxbury Latin in ninth grade, and throughout his time here he was well-regarded as a top academician, class officer, athlete, and good citizen. As a senior, he was cross country and baseball captain; won the Spanish, baseball, and publication prizes; and served as editor of the Yearbook. He will put all his talents to use engaging other alumni and RL families as part of our consequential development efforts.

Megan Fraker will serve as Associate Director of College Counseling, making the move to West Roxbury following four years as the Director of College Counseling at Xavier High School, an all-boys school in New York City. Before that, she worked as the founding Dean of College and Career Services for the Brooklyn campus of Achievement First, one of the most successful charter school networks in the country. Ms. Fraker knows our school well, having served for six years as the Dean of High School Placement and Graduate Services at Excel Academy in Boston, guiding a number of her most successful charges to Roxbury Latin. She holds a B.A. in English writing from St. Lawrence University and certificates from Columbia and the Boston University School of Management. Ms. Fraker will begin at RL full-time in November, when she will begin working especially with the boys of the Class of 2028. We look forward to welcoming her knowledge and energy to the college counseling team.

Lauren Horan joined the Roxbury Latin Modern Languages department during the winter term of 2025. Prior to joining RL, Ms. Horan spent two years teaching English in Costa Rica and as an ESOL Instructor in various locations around Boston. She recently completed her master’s degree in International Education and Bilingualism, with an IB Educator Certificate from the Universidad Camilo José Cela in Spain. Ms. Horan earned her B.A. and M.B.A from St. John’s University in New York City. She is also a graduate of the Boston Latin School. Ms. Horan is teaching three sections of Spanish 1 and a section of Spanish 2, as well as advising a number of boys.

Andrea Larkin joined Roxbury Latin as our Business Office Associate this spring. Ms. Larkin brings with her more than thirty years of experience working in business and accounting, having held roles at a wide range of businesses and universities. Most recently, she worked as Staff Accountant Controller at Boston Mutual Life Insurance. Ms. Larkin earned a B.S in accounting with honors from Merrimack College and will work alongside members of our Business Office to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of tuition, financial aid, annual fund dispersal, and payments and expense management. Her work is essential to making Roxbury Latin run.

Sue McCrory returns to Roxbury Latin as our Director of Stewardship, building long-term relationships and managing the important connections with the school’s alumni, parents, and other donors. Dr. McCrory knows us well, having taught Art History and Western Civilizations—as well as led trips for boys and given Halls on art history—for almost a decade. She has spent the past three years at Holy Cross, serving as Associate Director of Study Abroad and maintains deep ties with the art and history communities in the Boston area. With a B.A. in art history from Duke University and a Ph.D. in the history of art and architecture from Harvard, Dr. McCrory will also teach History 7 and will play an integral role in our Independent Study Program. We are so pleased to welcome Dr. McCrory back to Roxbury Latin.

Luke Miller is one of Roxbury Latin’s two new Penn Fellows, having graduated in May from Tufts University with a B.S. in physics and a minor in mathematics. Mr. Miller already has a talent for teaching, having served as a teaching assistant in several courses throughout his time at Tufts, including an Introduction to Physics lab and Introduction to Physics recitation. During his undergraduate career, Mr. Miller also contributed to research alongside professors in the areas of particle physics, cosmology, and high-energy physics. In addition to his penchant for science, Mr. Miller was a two-year member of the Tufts Track and Field team and brings a range of other interests to RL, having been an active member in several clubs at Tufts that satisfied his hobbies of juggling, circus acts, magic, and Rubik’s Cube-style puzzles. Mr. Miller is teaching Honors Physics and Honors Geometry, and coaching Fifth Soccer and Varsity Track and Field.

Megan Murray joins Roxbury Latin’s athletics staff as the school’s first Assistant Athletic Trainer. Ms. Murray comes to us highly regarded for that role, having served as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Brooks School for the past three years. Prior to that, she served as Athletic Trainer, Athletics Coordinator, Health and Wellness teacher, and dorm parent at the Fay School for four years. Ms. Murray is no stranger to Roxbury Latin, having worked at RL Summer Programs the past four summers. Ms. Murray graduated with a B.S. in education and a major in athletic training from the University of Georgia, where she did clinical rotations with their nationally ranked gymnastics and football teams.

Rob O’Rourke is Roxbury Latin’s new Director of College Counseling. Mr. O’Rourke comes to us with a deep and distinguished background in schools. At Georgetown University, his alma mater, he served for five years as an Admissions Officer, Assistant Director of Admissions, and eventual Senior Director of Admissions. Feeling called to work more directly with students, he moved to the Groton School, serving for eight years as the Associate Director of College Counseling, as well as the school’s Director of Community Engagement and Service, and teaching an ethics class. For the past four years, Mr. O’Rourke has served as the Director of College Counseling at Boston University Academy. Mr. O’Rourke graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown with a double major in theology and Spanish and earned a master’s in theological studies from Harvard Divinity School. Most notably, he is described by all who have come into contact with him as a wise, caring, and perceptive leader and advisor.

Patrick Sullivan ’13 returns to RL as our second new Penn Fellow this year. After graduating from RL, Mr. Sullivan attended Yale University, where he earned his B.A. in American studies and won the prestigious undergraduate Haas Prize. He was also director of The Purple Crayon of Yale improv comedy group and a co-founder of the Connecticut Bail Fund. From there, Mr. Sullivan moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as site manager for the Bail Project, managing sites in San Diego and Spokane and posting bail for more than 2,000 people. Most recently, he worked as the Director of Operations at the Freedom Community Center in St. Louis. In his time at RL, Mr. Sullivan captained the Varsity Soccer and Baseball teams, was Debate Society president, and graduated Cum Laude. This year he is teaching English 9 and Forces of Global Change, while assisting with Varsity Soccer and Debate.
