Need-Blind Enrollment

Roxbury Latin has a long-standing mission to admit qualified students without regard to their parents’ ability to pay. The school does not consider a family’s financial circumstances when making admission decisions and it meets the full, demonstrated need of all admitted students. Financial aid awards are based exclusively on financial need, not on merit, and they fill the gap between the tuition and what a family can afford to pay. In order to preserve the integrity of the need-blind process, the application for admission does not contain any questions regarding financial aid.

The school provides a comprehensive and generous financial aid program, focused on reaching out to families from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, and meeting 100% of a student’s demonstrated need. Thirty-eight percent of students receive financial assistance, and aid awards this year range from $1,000 to $39,050. Further, the school makes every effort to ensure that each boy can participate in activities that complement the program, such as school trips, by awarding additional financial assistance.
