Head Coach of Varsity Lacrosse
The Roxbury Latin School seeks to appoint a Head Coach of the Varsity Lacrosse program to begin in the Spring of 2026. In addition to daily coaching responsibilities for the varsity team, this person will be responsible for supervising the lacrosse program as a whole, working with coaches of the lower teams to develop players, observing practices and games, and providing feedback to student-athletes as they progress through the program. A key task of the Head Coach is to ensure that the values of the program are a reflection of those of the school. The Head Coach will also serve as a liaison between Roxbury Latin and the broader community, both as a resource to parents in outside programs who are interested in having their son attend RL, as well as to current student-athletes who are interested in playing lacrosse at the next level. Strong candidates will exhibit a high level of technical and strategic understanding of the game, strong organizational and communicative abilities, and devotion to both the athletic and moral growth of young men.
Roxbury Latin’s lacrosse season runs from March to May, although some time commitment to the program may be required before and/or after the season for administrative tasks. Practices generally begin at 3 p.m. on weekdays and run for two hours; games typically take place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Roxbury Latin competes athletically in the Independent School League.
While this is a part-time coaching position, Roxbury Latin is an immersive institution with a long tradition of teacher-coaches and of adults taking on many roles. Candidates interested in other roles in the life of the school are encouraged to apply.
An independent day school for 300 boys in grades 7 through 12, Roxbury Latin was founded in 1645 and is located in the West Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, where it attracts a student body noted for its academic ability and its diversity. Qualified applicants should send a letter of interest and a résumé via email to tony.teixeira@roxburylatin.org.
