Dean of Faculty

The Roxbury Latin School seeks to appoint a Dean of Faculty (to begin August 2019) with significant teaching and administrative experience. A member of the school’s leadership team, the Dean is responsible for the recruitment and orientation of new faculty, as well as the professional development (both individual and collective) of the entire faculty. The Dean also teaches, contributes to the athletic or extracurricular life of the school, and serves as an advisor to students. Applicants from any discipline are welcome.

English Teacher

The Roxbury Latin School seeks to appoint a full-time Teacher of English. Starting in August 2019, the successful candidate will teach departmental offerings from the introductory to advanced levels. Experience with creative writing would be an advantage. In addition to teaching, all faculty members at Roxbury Latin are involved in two seasons of coaching a team sport or the equivalent in advising an extracurricular activity. There are openings for coaches of wrestling, lacrosse, football, baseball, soccer, and track and field, on both varsity and lower-level teams. Extracurricular activities include debate and model UN, drama, publications, and community service. Each faculty member also serves as an advisor to several students.

Mathematics Teacher

The Roxbury Latin School seeks to appoint a full-time Teacher of Mathematics. Starting in August 2019, the successful candidate will teach departmental offerings from the introductory to advanced levels. Ability to teach a science course or in STEM-related areas would be an advantage, as would ability to teach economics. Teaching Fellowships

The Roxbury Latin School will appoint two Penn Teaching Fellows (starting in June) for the 2019-2020 school year in any of the following areas: Classics, English, Math, Science, STEM, or the Visual Arts. The two-year program enables Fellows to earn an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia while gaining experience at the Roxbury Latin School in Boston. With the guidance of faculty mentors, Penn Fellows teach one or two classes at Roxbury Latin and are involved in two seasons of coaching a team sport or the equivalent in advising an extracurricular activity. Fellows benefit from the coaching of a veteran teacher and a range of unique professional development experiences.
