Christopher Fitzgibbon ’10

Christopher Fitzgibbon ’10 managed and lead an interdisciplinary group of fellow Duke graduate students in a 10-week project providing pro-bono consulting to a nearby non-profit, The Rural Advancement Foundation International (RAFI). RAFI seeks to cultivate markets, policies, and communities that sustain thriving, socially just, and environmentally sound family farms. Their project determined the prominence of misrepresentation, dissatisfaction, as well as lack of knowledge surrounding municipal Farm Service Agency County Committees. Additionally, the group identified individuals for candidacy education and training to combat these issues, providing ample personal opportunities to meet and directly support family farmers.
