Habitat for Humanity

The Roxbury Latin Campus Chapter for Habitat for Humanity International is a student-run organization whose mission is to recruit volunteers for local Habitat for Humanity building sites and to raise awareness of substandard housing in the United States and around the world.

To date, the Roxbury Latin Campus Chapter has volunteered at 20 local building sites in Dorchester, Belmont, Plainville, and Scituate with affiliates Habitat Greater Boston, Old Colony Habitat in Attleboro, and South Shore Habitat in Braintree.

In 2007, the campus chapter raised approximately $4,000 to support Habitat for Humanity’s homebuilding work by participating in the School’s John Eliot Race after the fall athletic season, the regional Take A Hike for Humanity fundraiser at the Blue Hills Reservation in the spring, and by working a concession stand at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro during summer and fall professional sporting events.
