Sean McCarthy ’08 receives Trinity's top junior male athlete award
Sean McCarthy ’08, a Dean's Scholar at Trinity College and member of the men's ice hockey team, was the recipient of the Bob Harron Award as the college's top junior male athlete.
McCarthy joined six of his teammates on the 2011 NESCAC All-Academic squad. Each NESCAC All-Academic honoree must be varsity letterwinner and maintain at least a 3.35 grade-point average. McCarthy is a two-time, NESCAC All-Academic selection. An economics major, McCarthy was named a Dean’s Scholar for having one of top-15 GPAs in the junior class this spring.
McCarthy scored six goals, including a pair of gamewinners, and added three assists for nine points in 23 games at forward in 2010-11. Trinity finished the 2010-11 season with an 11-10-4 overall record, and qualified for the NESCAC Championship Tournament for the 11th consecutive season with a 9-8-2 league mark. The Bantams lost at Williams, 4-3, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.
