Latin Oration by RL Alumnus Extends Harvard Tradition
Charlie Bridge ’07 gave the Latin Oration at Harvard Commencement 2011 (Morning Exercises). Bridge is the recipient of the David Taggart Clark Prize of the Department of Classics. The prize, from the bequest of David Taggart Clark (Harvard Class of 1892), was established in 1956 and is awarded to the senior selected to make the Latin oration at Commencement. The prize is named in memory of the same David Taggart Clark, RL Class of 1889, who endowed Roxbury Latin's Exelauno Day Greek and Latin declamations in 1957.
