Reunion: Huge turnout for a two-part celebration
Reunion 2011 saw a great turnout for the two-part celebration: the "RL Today" school-day experience open to all alumni on Friday, and the reunion class dinner on Saturday night. Friday included a special reception and light luncheon with the Headmaster for the Class of 1961 and older, and on both days, athletic games were on the docket.
For the centerpiece of Friday's "RL Today," about 60 alumni joined a panel of ten members of Class I in the Great Hall for a candid discussion about student life at RL today. At one point, the questions went the other way, with students asking what RL was like 25 and 50 years ago from an audience quite willing to share. (See photos)
Saturday's cocktail reception and dinner for the anniversary classes ending in 6 and 1 drew some 300 guests—filling the Bernstein Tea Room due to an untimely bit of weather. (The cocktail reception is usually enjoyed outside in the courtyard.) The rain soon let up allowing alumni and spouses to spill out onto the balcony before heading downstairs to the gym for dinner and class photos.
