Kay Hubbard, RL mainstay from 1962 to 1988
Kay Hubbard, who held key roles at Roxbury Latin for 26 years, died July 8 surrounded by her family at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont.
Kay was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes (Bell) Guy. In 1945 she married Llewellyn Hubbard in Scotland. She began her long career at The Roxbury Latin School in 1962 as Secretary, and then from 1975 to 1986 she was Assistant to the Headmaster. From 1976 to 1988 she also held the position of Director of College Guidance. She is remembered as a mentor and friend by countless RL graduates and masters. In Vermont, Kay was a tour guide at the Shelburne Farms and for many years had volunteered at Fletcher Allen Health Care. She enjoyed her flower gardens, traveling (especially back to Scotland), spending time with her grandchildren, and entertaining her family and friends.
