Finally, you will be able to meet a wider selection of alumni – across professions, decades, and interests – than those with whom you may be acquainted now. Plus, the contacts of your fellow R.L. alums can easily become your contacts through introductions.
Can I find R.L. Alumni without joining the group?
While it is possible to locate R.L. alumni without joining the group, it is more difficult and may not provide a comprehensive view of alumni using LinkedIn. You would have to do an individual search for a name you know or search for “Roxbury Latin” and hope that an alumnus has listed his affiliation with R.L. The group should make it easier to see a list of R.L. alumni who are on LinkedIn and whom you can invite into your network if you so choose.
Will I be subject to group emails, spam, or other annoyances?
No. LinkedIn is a one-to-one model, so no one, not even the group administrator, can mass email. Furthermore, only people you’ve invited into your personal network can contact you directly.
