Admission

Admission Welcome

Thank you for your interest in The Roxbury Latin School. Please explore our website to learn more about the School’s mission and culture. The Admission Office also encourages you to attend one of our two Open Houses in the fall.

We seek boys who will thrive in a challenging environment that emphasizes character development, academic excellence, and broad extracurricular involvement. Boys with outstanding talent in a defined extracurricular pursuit must still be able and eager to meet the School’s academic standards in order to be admitted. Those with exceptional intellectual power must show their desire to stretch their interests and engage fully in the program. We actively strive for racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic diversity in our student body and admit boys regardless of their background.

We seek boys who will thrive in a challenging environment that emphasizes character development, academic excellence, and broad extracurricular involvement.

Most students enter the School at grade 7 or grade 9, but a few boys may be admitted to other grades each year. The flexibility of the schedule usually permits us to place boys at a level of Latin, French, Spanish, and mathematics that is appropriate to their particular background and training.
